FAQ

Questions about your spa experience?

Where can I find the prices for spa treatments?
Go to the spa treatments page, then click on the desired type of treatment. This will open a page with a variety of therapies to choose from, with their prices.

I am trying to book a spa treatment that is listed on your website, but it does not appear on the online booking program. Why is this?
Not all treatments may be booked online. If you are interested in booking a treatment that is not available online, please email us with your question, or call us locally once you are within Mexico at 984 871 2750. You can book in person at the spa desk at Cabanas Copal. Please keep in mind that all therapists have changing schedules, so if you are coming from another hotel and have a specific therapist request, please give us a call beforehand so we can set up an appointment within that person's schedule.

How do I get to Maya Spa?
Please click here for full information. If you are not staying with us at EcoTulum Resorts, you can check with the front desk at your hotel for taxi or bus information to the Tulum hotel zone.

Do I need to take a shower before my treatment?
A shower washes away the tensions of the day, along with sunscreen, fragrances, and lotions that may interact with products used in your treatment. Warm water also helps prepare your body to receive the full benefits of the carefully chosen natural substances used by your therapist.

Should I take off all of my clothes during my treatments?
Our therapists use professional draping techniques to ensure your privacy at all times. While some spa treatments are best performed with less clothing, every step is taken to ensure discretion. The therapist will explain the treatment procedure prior to the commencement of the service, how to position yourself on the treatment table, and how to use the linens to cover yourself. The therapist will leave the room while you disrobe and position yourself for the treatment. They will protect your right to privacy and comfort at all times. Please remember that Copal and Azulik are clothing optional facilities, and our therapists and employees are comfortable with and respectful of nudism.

What is detoxification?
Detoxification is the process of removing toxins from the body. Perspiring is our body's natural way to detoxify itself. Our temazcal, Mayan clay massage, and selection of body wraps are wonderful examples of detoxifying treatments. Sometimes the detoxification process can be physically tiring and a short rest period is recommended after these treatments.

Is there any particular spa etiquette that I should be aware of?
Maya Spa staff is here to ensure your total relaxation. We are not a pretentious spa facility, and we strive to make all guests welcome and comfortable. If you have any additional spa questions, please e-mail us or speak with our spa manager on site.
