Want to keep in shape during your vacation? Or would you like take advantage of this trip to change your old couch potato habits? Tulum is a great place for outdoor activities!
Yoga
Join us each morning at 7:30 a.m. for free yoga classes on Copal's sandy terrace or in the jungle yoga palapa. This is a great way to start out your day energized and refreshed!
Bicycles
Rent a bike at Copal and some snorkel gear in reception, grab our map, and head out to explore the cenotes (freshwater sinkholes). The cenotes are unique to the Yucatan peninsula, and each one is completely different from the next. Put three or four cenotes on your list of things to see for the day, and between the swimming and the bike ride you will end up with a great workout.
Kayaks
Grab a partner or head out alone in one of Copal's rental kayaks. Rent some snorkeling gear at Copal and explore the reef while you're at it. The sea in Tulum is generally calm, and this is the best arm exercise you will ever get. You'll have so much fun you won't even realize this is exercise!
Jungle tours
Sign up at the Copal reception for a walking tour through the tropical jungle. Get your exercise while exploring the jungle and mingling with the wildlife!
Scuba
Sign up for a scuba tour at Copal's front desk to explore the coral reef and underground passages of the cenotes. Aren't certified? That's not a problem! We offer certification courses led by an experienced divemaster.
Snorkeling
Rent some snorkel gear at the Copal reception and head out for the reef to explore the coral wonderland just offshore. Remember you don't move your arms while snorkeling: you can hold them in front or behind you. A straight-legged scissors kick will strengthen your legs and get you moving fast.
Swimming
Slather yourself up with sunscreen after your morning yoga class, grab your goggles, and head out for a morning swim! The are no worries of currents here in Tulum, and as long as you´re an experienced swimmer you will love swimming in the sea! This is a great way to cool off and get some exercise.
